Welding Process Precautions for High Manganese Steel Welded Screens
High manganese steel welded screens are manganese steel mesh products fabricated using welding processes, commonly known as welded quenching screens. The quality of the welding process directly determines the service life and screening efficiency of manganese steel welded screens. Therefore, what precautions should be taken during welding?
When manufacturing manganese steel welded screens and stainless steel wire mesh products, it is important to consider the unique characteristics of stainless steel compared to ordinary carbon steel. Stainless steel welding has its specific challenges, as the weld joints and heat-affected zones are more prone to various defects. This is a critical point to note when welding manganese steel welded screens. For welding materials such as stainless steel wire and stainless steel wire mesh, it is necessary to remove oil and scale if needed to improve the welding quality. Hydrogen arc welding is the most commonly used welding process for stainless steel wire mesh products. In this process, protective gas (hydrogen) is introduced around the arc welding area to isolate the welding zone from outside air, preventing oxidation and achieving double-sided formation.
The technical characteristics of welding manganese steel screens include back hydrogen filling for the weld, using low current, a short arc, and employing a zigzag oscillation method during welding. The interlayer temperature should be kept as high as possible, and the weld color should be white and yellow as a standard. The hydrogen arc welding gun should be held at a forward angle of 90 degrees or less, and the gap between both sides should be controlled at around 2mm.
These are the main precautions for the welding process of manganese steel welded screens. We hope this information is helpful to you.
